Prayer is a deliberate act by man, seeking to start a relationship with God. It puts man in sync with God in a way that allows him to understand God's will and purpose for his life. Prayer also provides a way for man to confess his feelings, or ideas. It affords man an open communication with God in public, or private. Prayer can be done through song, creed, or in complete silence.
Why Is Prayer Necessary?
Prayer is necessary to build a rapport, which is essential in any relationship. Without communication there's no way to express one's feelings, or build a mutual understanding. When man prays to God, he is sharing his feelings and thoughts, and vs verse. If done on a daily basis, the relationship may become harmonious.
God Does Answer Prayer?
God said in the book of Isaiah 65:24,"And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer: and while they are yet speaking, I will hear." In the book of Genesis 16:11 the Angel of the Lord said to Hagar that her son would be called Ishmael (which means 'God hears'), because the Lord heard her affliction. There are many testimonies found throughout the scriptures where God hears. In the book of Daniel 3:17, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego was asked to worship king Nebuchadnezzar's golden image, or be thrown in the fiery furnace. However, they did not saying, "our God Whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king." God answered their prayers; God will answer your prayers too.
