Religion
Religion is a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects. There are many different religions , which may or may not contain various elements such as the divine, sacred things, faith, or the supernatural.
Religious practices
Religious Practices may include rituals, sermons, commemoration or veneration (of deities), sacrifices, festivals, feasts, trances, initiations, funerary services, matrimonial services, meditation, prayer, music, art, dance, public service, or other aspects of human culture. Religion is not relationship.
Relationship
Relationship is having dependence, alliance, or consanguinity; common ancestor, Kinship. Harmonious relationships are developed between people and persons who share our affections, emotional ebbs and flows; our heart. Communication is key to develop close long lasting relationships. God holds and understands our heart, a relationship with Him requires faith and prayer; the conduit to communicate and develop a rapport.
Developing a Relationship with God
God desires a relationship with us. He created us in His image (Genesis 1:26). God will not accept rituals, and planned programs; religion. God sent His Son (Jesus) to redeem man from sin. By one man (Adam) all men fell into sin (Romans 5:12). And by one (Jesus) many, whosoever will, may be saved (Romans 5:17). Jesus paid it all on the Cross. Because of Jesus' sacrifice, we can go to God to obtain mercy and find grace in our times of need (Hebrews 4:16).
"Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required (Psalm 40:6). The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. (Psalm 51:17). For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16)."
Repent. The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Stop Performing and Start Relating. Prayer Is The Key and Faith Unlocks the Door. Jesus is Coming!
