Inquiring Minds Need To Know What Being A Christian Is About

Writer's picture: Adrianne BrownAdrianne Brown

Being a Christian is being a disciple; servant, of Jesus Christ. It is to be a follower of the Way of Jesus Christ, which is not a form, fashion, pass time or hobby. It is to respect, honor, worship, and glorify God. It is to present one's body a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is one's reasonable service; an act of helpful activity; aid: (Romans 12:1).To be a Christian is to be in service to/for the Lord.

In Service

As a Christian in service to/for the Lord, One must reverence the Lord God in his heart: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that ask him a reason of the hope that is in him with meekness and fear (1 Peter 3:15). A Christian must know the Word of God, because one knows "the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds ...destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). Being in service means "......we are labourers together with God....(1 Corinthians 3:9) [One must be able to] "Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. [able to] Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all long suffering and teaching (2 Timothy 4:2), because inquiring minds need to know.

Inquiring Minds Need To Know

Inquiring minds need to know how to overcome spiritual warfare, which adversely attacks one's mind, self esteem, character, inevitably affecting all other areas of one's life. Inquiring minds need to know, unbeknownst to them, that"...we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12). Inquiring minds need to know that one must, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). One needs to know, that without God in his life, he is vulnerable to give in to Satan's attacks. Inquiring minds need to know that the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus makes one free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2). More importantly, inquiring minds need to know what must they do to be saved. One must reconcile with God"... Repent (think differently; change your mind, regretting your sins and changing your conduct), for the kingdom of heaven is at hand (Mathew 3:2).
