Love
Love is multifaceted; it encompasses a variety of strong and positive emotional and mental states. God's Love is the unselfish, loyal, and benevolent; intended for benefits rather than profit, concern for the good of His children. To Love is a God given command which states that, "thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these (Mark 12:30-31). Moreover, God's Love paid our sin debt; redeemed us, whosoever will.
It Doesn't Matter Your Accolades And/Or Gifts (Talents)
It doesn't matter how intelligent you are, or think you are, in your eyes, without God's love you are nothing. The amount of money, awards, and or degrees means nothing without God's love. God gives us many gifts, no matter our shortcomings, because He loves us. However, if we don't use those gifts for the purpose of edifying the body of Christ, we are being wasteful. God's gifts are not purposed for works of the flesh, but of Spirit - motivated by God. If one is not using his blessings to be a blessing to his neighbors, no matter their economic status, ethnicity, or nationality, he doesn't understand that, "...... life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth (Luke 12:15). God gave! "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believe in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). God's Love is patient, kind, does not covert, never boasts, is not prideful is not self centered, forgives, speaks of Truth, and remains the same. God's love for us never changes, and never fails.
"If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a ringing brass gong or a clashing cymbal. And if I have the gift of prophecy and I know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I parcel out all my possessions, and if I hand over my body in order that I will be burned, but do not have love, it benefits me nothing. Love is patient, love is kind, love is not jealous, it does not boast, it does not become conceited, it does not behave dishonorably, it is not selfish, it does not become angry, it does not keep a record of wrongs, it does not rejoice at unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. But if there are prophecies, they will pass away. If there are tongues, they will cease. If there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but whenever the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. And now these three things remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:1-10,13).
