Whatever you are going through in this life, it is finished! Jesus' Crucifixion, on the Cross, destroyed the bonds of sin. We are given the Power, whosoever will, to be victorious in this life. Our sin nature that causes us to worry, be anxious, become addicted to various things and ways, have lustful desires, have low- self esteem, experience melancholy, shame, depression, fear, and the like- that which we inherited through the disobedience of Adam in the Garden of Eden- has been defeated on the Cross. Jesus took away the sin of the world, so that we no longer have to be held captive by it.
Jesus The Perfect Sacrifice
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believe in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Jesus as the Perfect Sacrifice (sin-offering) took away the sin of the world. Prior to Him being Crucified on the Cross, the blood of bulls and goats only covered sin (Hebrews 10:4).
"....Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world (John 1:29). And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst (John 19:17-18). After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost (John 19:28-30).
