How Do You Respond To Ridicule When Doing A Good Work?

Updated: Aug 9, 2020

When there is work to be done everyone knows it, however very few will set out to see that it gets done. And even though the work will be a benefit to many, there will be plenty of opposition. Yet, the work remains. You who are faithful workers, don't let anyone nor anything stop you. Stay on the wall!

Opposition Will Come

".... when Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, he became furious, completely enraged, and he ridiculed the Jews. He spoke before his brothers and the army of Samaria, “What are these feeble Jews doing? Can they restore it for themselves? Can they offer sacrifices? Can they finish in a day? Can they revive the stones from the heaps of dust and rubbish, even the ones that have been burned?” Now Tobiah the Ammonite was beside him, and he said, “Even what they are building--if a fox should get up on it, he would break down their stone wall. (Nehemiah 4:1-3)

Don't allow the enemy to stop you. Stay on the wall!

Stay On The Wall

The work may seem impossible, but nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37). And, no matter the contempt, or venomous words of the opposition, stay on the wall. Nehemiah was faced with opposition from within and without, but he prayed (Nehemiah 4:4-5) and pressed. He wasn't persuaded to come down because he knew he was doing a great work (Nehemiah 6:3). We will not be persuaded to come down. And so he carried on with the work with half of his co-workers holding spears from dawn until the stars came out (Nehemiah 4: 21). We also will carry on. "Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes (Ephesians 6:11).

Stay On The Wall!

God Will Carry you Through (Isaiah 46:4)

Keep up the Good Work!, in Jesus name

Keep Praying and Pressing...
