"Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay. For I heard the defaming of many, fear on every side. Report, say they, and we will report it. All my familiars watched for my halting, saying, Peradventure he will be enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him. But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten. But, O LORD of hosts, that triest the righteous, and seest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I opened my cause. Sing unto the LORD, praise ye the LORD: for he hath delivered the soul of the poor from the hand of evildoers (Jeremiah 20:9-13)
God's Message Will Always Burn in the Heart
Sometimes you may tell yourself not to think about spreading the God's Gospel, yet His message burns in your heart and bones. You cannot keep silent. I know you hear the crowds whispering; everyone is afraid. They are awaiting the chance to sling accusations. Like Jeremiah, all of your so-called friends are just waiting for you to make a mistake. They want to trick and overpower you. However, you Lord are a mighty soldier standing at our side. Anyone who troubles God's message bearers will fall down and fail. They will be terribly embarrassed, and forever ashamed. Lord you are Omnipotent, you test those who do right, and you know every heart and mind. We can go to God with our complaints and watch you take revenge on our enemies. We sing praises to you, Lord. You rescue the oppressed from the wicked.
You May Cry Sometimes
Its okay to cry. Jeremiah cried. Just like Jeremiah, you can mix your tears with praise. Everybody is not going to like what you have to say about God's Word pertaining to their lives. There will be opposition, slanders about you, even traps set for your demise. Praise God and keep spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Oh yes you will be persecuted. Jesus said, "If the people of this world hate you, just remember that they hated me first (John 15:18). Don't hold back on speaking God's Word. Jeremiah tried to hold back but couldn't, because God's Word was like fire shut up in his bones (Jeremiah 20:9). Regardless of the results, you cannot stop the fire if you tried.
No One Can Stop The Fire, Not Even The Enemy
"Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction (2 Timothy 4:2).
