Faith Without Works Is Dead

"My fellow believers, do not practice your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of partiality [toward people--show no favoritism, no prejudice, no snobbery] (James 2:1). God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). "If a brother or sister is without [adequate] clothing and lacks [enough] food for each day, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace [with my blessing], [keep] warm and feed yourselves," but he does not give them the necessities for the body, what good does that do? So too, Faith, if it does not have works [to back it up], is by itself dead [inoperative and ineffective] (James 2:15-17).

Faith In Action

"Speak and act [consistently] as people who are going to be judged by the law of liberty [that moral law that frees obedient Christians from the bondage of sin]. For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; but [to the one who has shown mercy] mercy triumphs [victoriously] over judgment (James 2:12,13).

Show Mercy

God's Salvation is a free gift; Grace. Freely God gave and freely we received. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). God's Grace is unmerited favor, however it does not give the believer a pass or license to be lethargic. It's because of God's Grace we willingly and joyfully care for others without choosing who and when. God's Grace and Mercy, His Holy Spirit, taught us to be merciful to all.

"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world (James 1:27).
