To be loose is to be free from anything that binds or retrains you. Sin is the tie that binds. It separated man from God starting with Adam's disobedience. "But when [in God’s plan] the proper time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the [regulations of the] Law, so that He might redeem and liberate those who were under the Law, that we [who believe] might be adopted as sons [as God’s children with all rights as fully grown members of a family] (Galatians 4:4-5). For what the Law could not do [that is, overcome sin and remove its penalty, its power] being weakened by the flesh [man’s nature without the Holy Spirit], God did: He sent His own Son in the likeness of sinful man as an offering for sin. And He condemned sin in the flesh [subdued it and overcame it in the person of His own Son] (Romans 8:3).
Only Jesus Can Loose Man From Bondage
Without Jesus shedding His Blood on the Cross, man could've never been loosed. One cannot loose himself. To be loosed from sin and death, both one's mind and flesh must come into subjection to the Word of God [Jesus]. A spiritual rebirth is necessary, that is one must be born again to even see the Kingdom of God (John 3:3). One must personally repent; turn from his wicked selfish ways, and accept Christ Jesus, by faith, as his Lord and Savior. Yes, there is a spiritual war going on for your soul that you cannot win on your own. Every time you ever think to do good, evil will be present because your mind will war against your members (Romans 7:21-23). Thankfully, God made a way for us to be loosed. “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life(John 3:16).
Thou Art Loosed
If you have repented and, by Faith, accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are free [loosed]. Praise God. "For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God; not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law], so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation] (Ephesians 2:8-9). You are free from the sin tie that had you bound to death. "Therefore you are no longer a slave (bond-servant), but a son; and if a son, then also an heir through [the gracious act of] God [through Christ].(Galatians 4:7) "So if the Son makes you free, then you are
unquestionably free.(John 8:36).
