Since the fall of man by Adam (Genesis 3:1-24), we have been running for our lives. Our lives are like the salmon that migrate upstream. We have an inborn sense of who we are and to whom, and where, we belong. We must make our way back home to God; repent and receive the Gift (John 3:16). "Because that which may be known of God is manifest in us; for God hath shewed it unto us. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that we are without excuse (Romans 1:19-20).
It is an Uphill Battle
We know of God, 'but sin seizes the opportunity to use the commandment to produce all kinds of desires in us. Without the law we used to be alive. We didn't even know we were sinning until the commandment showed us (Romans 7:8). Now its an uphill battle. The battle, however, is spiritual '.. we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12). Now that you know its an uphill battle, ...be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless. (1 Corinthians 15:58). 'The goal is to pursue the prize of God’s upward call in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14). Keep pressing!
