"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. (1 Peter 3:3-4)
Be Characterized by Your Inward Beauty
Many of us have heard the statement that beauty is only skin deep. That is to say, outward beauty is not true beauty at all. Yet, many of us put a lot of effort in the cover up. Some of us do not want who we really are or how we really feel to show on our faces, so we create an illusion. However, looking beautiful is not the same as actually being beautiful. No matter how much we dress up, make up, or beautify the outside, our inside is what will eventually tell the whole truth about how beautiful, or not, we really are. Your outside beauty may fool man, but it doesn't fool God.
A Changed Heart Speaks Volumes
As children of God, our looks are not what characterizes us as such. It is our walk, lifestyle. That is, it is how we live and treat others even when nobody on earth, we deem, important is watching. Let me say that there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking care of yourself, however it is your heart condition that matters. You don't want a pretty face with a dirty character. You are a peculiar person in Christ Jesus. When your beauty is characterized after the inward working of God's Holy Spirit you won't have to put on makeup because you'd have a natural glow. "I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. (1 Corinthians 15:50)
Praise God from Whom all blessings flow. Put it all in His hands. Have a blessed stress-free worry-free day on purpose, and never stop believing Jesus is Lord and He paid it all.
