Blessed Be the Rock of Our Salvation

"From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe (Psalm 61:2-3 NIV).

Call on the Lord

We don't have to wait until we become overwhelmed to call on the Lord. We must humble ourselves and recognize that our strength is not in ourselves but in the Lord. Remember, we are not fighting against flesh and blood, but against powerful dark forces in the spiritual realm Eph. 6:12. Jesus Christ is the Rock. He is unassailable.

God's Love is Unfailing

We must put our trust in the Lord. No one can stand against Him and no one will. Jesus' Crucifixion on the Cross wasn't a defeat it was a victory. Jesus' last Words were '"...it is Finished'" (John 19:30) His ministry; Jesus' Work of atonement for sin, was now complete that the scripture might be fulfilled. This is what God's unfailing Love is and what it looks like. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:16-17 KJV) "We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. (Isaiah 53:6 NIV) God demonstrated His love for us by sending His own Son Jesus to die for us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8). The World has never seen a love like this.

Jesus Christ is the Rock

Jesus is the Rock. "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12 NIV) " He is the One Who saves, delivers, and sets free. The rock is Who He is; our redeemer, what He has done; delivered us from sin, and what He can and will do; Keep us from going to Hell for all Eternity.

Don't Reject Him

"See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven? At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.” (Hebrews 12:25-29 NIV)

Prayer

"May your unfailing love come to me, Lord, your salvation, according to your promise; then I can answer anyone who taunts me, for I trust in your word. Never take your word of truth from my mouth, for I have put my hope in your laws. (Psalm 119:41-43 NIV)
