"He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (Micah 6:8 NIV) This is what the Lord Almighty said: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. (Zechariah 7:9 NIV) Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. (Ephesians 4:32 NIV)
Praise to the God of all Comfort
If you have a heart of compassion, you'd feel a deep sympathy and sorrow for those who are hurting, in pain, or has experienced misfortune; you'd desire to help relieve their suffering. "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
Be Humble
Humble people are meek. Humble people do not take credit for what God has done and is doing in their lives. God expects His children to show one another justice and mercy. "This is what the Lord Almighty said: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. (Zechariah 7:9 NIV) God wants to show Himself through us. The same justice and mercy He shows toward us, we ought to show toward others. Be Humble. The Lord is Gracious and Merciful. He is slow to anger and His steadfast love for us abounds; "..he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities (Psalm 103:10 NIV).
Be Forgiving
When we forgive one another, we are showing mercy. It is the forgiveness of Christ as taught to us in the Gospel. Even the Lord's prayer tells us to forgive. "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.(Matthew 6:14-15 NIV)
God Wishes None to Perish
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:16-17 KJV) The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. (2Peter 3:9)
Praise God from Whom all blessings flow. Put it all in His hands. Have a blessed stress-free worry-free day on purpose, and never stop believing Jesus paid it all.
