When a person is told they have an addiction, denial sets in. Addiction is especially hard to accept when its not to drugs or alcohol. The flesh can lust after or rather desire many things which differ from person to person. It can be for anything or toward anyone. When one doesn't desire the things of God, but the flesh, it is sin. Sin has one category; Sin. Sin is sin no matter how you flip it. There are no big, or small sins. Our lusts, whatever they are, left unchecked, can draw us to stray toward sin. "....every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death (James 1:14-15). God judges all sins and punishes appropriately in order to correct and restore our fellowship with Him. Jesus conquered sin and death on the Cross, and He will work them out. And, "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you [me/us] will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6). Ask God to help you with ALL of your sins before they drag you away.
