God Chose to Love Us in Spite Of
Love is a choice made toward an object of one's affection, often times, without reciprocity. True love is multifaceted having nothing to do with feelings. Love always protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres (1 Corinthians 13:7), no matter what its recipient does. The act of love cannot be counted or measured because it is ongoing and selfless. God is Love, and His love is selfless. “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him won’t perish but will have eternal life. God chose to love us no matter what sins we committed. "He was pierced because of our rebellions and crushed because of our crimes. He bore the punishment that made us whole; by his wounds we are healed. Like sheep we had all wandered away, each going its own way, but the LORD let fall on him all our crimes. He was oppressed and tormented, but didn’t open his mouth. Like a lamb being brought to slaughter, like a ewe silent before her shearers, he didn’t open his mouth.(Isaiah 53:5-7). God's love continues to choose us. He will not kick open your door. He says, 'Look! I’m standing at the door and knocking. If any hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to be with them, and will have dinner with them, and they will have dinner with me (Revelation 3:20). God's loving invitation to have an intimate relationship with us still stands.
Choose Love; Choose Jesus
