“....Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams."

Be Obedient in The First Place
God has an agenda that cannot be compromised. Consider the reason for your sacrifice. Remember the sacrifice is not more important than the reason for it. We mustn't try and manipulate God to fit our own agenda. We are to be concerned with what God thinks of us not man. Obey God's Word. If we are not truly repentant, then the sacrifice is just a ritual.
God is Telling Us Plainly
We must make our relationship with Him Personal. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:16-17 KJV) Answer the call. Jesus saith, "....I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6 KJV) Our relationship with Jesus will always prevail over religious practices. “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and, in your name, perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ (Matthew 7:21-23 NIV) Jesus' Truth exposes man's lies. Only our faith in and obedience to Him is what will matter in the end. Only what we do for Christ will last (Colossians 3:17)
