"Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit. (Psalm 32:1-2 NIV)
All is Not Lost
When we sin, we condemn ourselves out of guilt and shame. This is something that we must take to God in prayer because we are never going to be sinless on this side of heaven. That is, we will never be free of all our flaws and shortcomings. We have to understand that we can never be perfect in ourselves, and God doesn't ask us to be perfect. Perfection is impossible. Christ Jesus is Who makes us perfect. "You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:6-8 NIV) '"For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. (John 3:16-17 NIV) So stop condemning yourself. God has already shown us that He is ready and willing to forgive as demonstrated by Jesus' death on the Cross.
What Can One do to Get Rid of Guilt?
Believe in Jesus' finished work on the Cross and that He is alive and active through His Holy Spirit. Trust and know that God will forgive and accept His forgiveness. Your faith in Jesus' finished Work on the Cross is what justifies you before God as perfect. It is what justifies us as believers. Let go and Let God. There is absolutely no sin too great for Jesus' blood to cover. "...“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26 NIV) Don't try and hide your sin; confess your sin. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 NIV) Jesus paid it all. Praise God for He is Sovereign. Forgiveness is part of God's loving nature. Remember, He gave His only Son, Jesus, to cover our sin in order they not be counted against us; "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:23-24 NIV) Believe! Keep your faith in and focus on Jesus.
Praise God
Praise God from Whom all blessings flow. Put it all in His hands. Have a blessed stress-free worry-free day on purpose, and never stop believing Jesus paid it all.
