“Wait on the LORD: Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD (Psalm 27:14).Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” ( Psalm 46:10)
We Can not Wait Until its Over to start Waiting
Waiting is something that we should all be use to in this life. We wait on lines for our groceries, for our money in banks, for test results and son on. Why not wait on the Lord? We get so impatient when it comes to waiting on Him. Sarai became impatient about what God had promised her husband Abram. She became so impatient that she caused them both some head and heart ache. You see "...Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar. And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai. And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife. And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes (Genesis 16:1-4). So, not only did Sarai become impatient and cause her husband to go ahead of God, but she became jealous as well.
We can not rush God's Plan
We can not rush God's plan but we (believers) can be found waiting. "... the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. (2 Peter 3:10-12, 14). Wait on the LORD: Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD (Psalm 27:14).
