Once more Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, “I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life (John 8:12).
"Whoever finds his life [in this world] will [eventually] lose it [through death], and whoever loses his life [in this world] for My sake will find it [that is, life with Me for all eternity] (Matthew 10:39).
Jesus is the Light of the World
Jesus said, “I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life (John 8:12). The only way to follow Jesus faithfully is to be obedient to His Word. They are the laws of the Kingdom of Heaven. God's Holy scriptures are where we learn and get to know, through His Holy Spirit, Who Jesus is. Jesus is the One Who by his Blood made us (whosoever will believe) able to come into the presence of God (Hebrews 10:19), He is the One Who protects us (Psalm 18:30-31), and guides us, through his Holy Spirit, into all truth (John 16:30).
Find Your Life in Jesus
Jesus said, "Whoever finds his life [in this world] will [eventually] lose it [through death], and whoever loses his life [in this world] for My sake will find it [that is, life with Me for all eternity] (Matthew 10:39). The more we love this life the further away from God it will pull us. Jesus said, 'The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10). Jesus doesn't take from us He adds to us. He adds things that money cannot buy like peace, joy, love, patience, kindness and the like in abundance - now in this life. If God is giving us good things now in this life, can we even imagine what He'll give in the next eternally. "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, Neither have entered into the heart of man, The things which God hath prepared for them that love him (1 Corinthians 2:9). So, a life surrendered to Jesus is not only free its beneficial. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved (John 3:16-17).
Prayer
"Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; And I shall keep it unto the end (Palm 119:33).
Praise God from Whom all blessings flow. Put it all in His hands. Have a blessed stress free worry free day on purpose, and never stop believing Jesus paid it all.
