"Whither shall I go from thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: If I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there (Psalm 139:7-8).
God Is Everywhere
David asked God, where can I hide? The answer to the question is ...Nowhere. Wherever man tries to go in search of whatever, he will never be capable of outrunning or hiding from God. "The earth is the LORD's, and the fulness thereof; The world, and they that dwell therein. For he hath founded it upon the seas and established it upon the floods (Psalm 24:1-2)." Everything was created by Him. "For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for him (Colossians 1:16). So might as well stop running.
At Least Stop Running Aimlessly
If you are going to run, run for the imperishable. "Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receive the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that strive for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so, fight I, not as one that beateth the air: but I keep under my body and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
(1 Corinthians 9:24-27). This world has nothing to give us. That is, nothing worth selling our soul for. Stay focused on God's promises. "Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: Remove thy foot from evil (Proverbs 4:27).
