"Now a certain man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village where Mary and her sister Martha lived. It was the Mary who anointed the Lord with perfume and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick. So, the sisters sent word to Him, saying, “Lord, he [our brother and Your friend] whom You love is sick.” When Jesus heard this, He said, “This sickness will not end in death; but [on the contrary it is] for the glory and honor of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified by it.” Now Jesus loved and was concerned about Martha and her sister and Lazarus [and considered them dear friends]. So [even] when He heard that Lazarus was sick, He stayed in the same place two more days. Then He said to His disciples, “Let us go back to Judea (John 11:1-7).
Whose Report will You believe?
So many of us (believers) are not walking by faith. We believe when everything seems, to us, to be going well only to flip flop when we hear bad news. We believe in man's report, when we should be believing in God's Word, Jesus. In the book of Isaiah chapter. 53:1-7 there was a questioned asked. "Who has believed [confidently trusted in, relied on, and adhered to] our message [of salvation]? And to whom [if not us] has the arm and infinite power of the Lord been revealed? For He [the Servant of God; Jesus] grew up before Him like a tender shoot (plant), And like a root out of dry ground; He has no stately form or majestic splendor that we would look at Him, nor [handsome] appearance that we would be attracted to Him. He was despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and pain and acquainted with grief; And like One from whom men hide their faces. He was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or esteem Him. But [in fact] He has borne our griefs, And He has carried our sorrows and pains; Yet we [ignorantly] assumed that He was stricken, struck down by God and degraded and humiliated [by Him]. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]; The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him, And by His stripes (wounds) we are healed. All of us like sheep have gone astray, we have turned, each one, to his own way; But the Lord has caused the wickedness of us all [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing] To fall on Him [instead of us]. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth [to complain or defend Himself]; Like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that is silent before her shearers, So He did not open His mouth. (Isaiah 53:1-7).
This prophecy came many years before the birth of Jesus. It has come to pass just as it was prophesied yet many refuse to believe. Well, whose report will you believe.
It isn't over until God says its Over
Was it the Dr. who said that your time is up? Is it because you are praying fervently for the Lord to heal your body but haven't heard from Him that you beginning to doubt Him? God is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us (Ephesians 3:20). So, do you doubt the power within? If so, you cannot expect that you will receive anything [at all] from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable and restless in all his ways (James1:7-8). Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death; but [on the contrary it is] for the glory and honor of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified by it (John 11:4). Jesus deliberately took His time going back to Judea because He had a purpose. His purpose has been and always will be to do the will of His father, God. He gets the Glory out of His story. It's God's will for us to believe and receive His gift of Eternal life through His Son Jesus. He will heal you in such a way that you may know Him [Jesus}. His Glory will not be shared with man. When we go through various things that threaten our Faith in Jesus, it's a good time to hold on a little tighter. Time to get rooted. Go deeper. Reacquaint yourself with Jesus. Our trials are opportunities for us [believers] to prove that our testing, no matter what, will make us stronger and keep our Faith and trust in Him.
Jesus is the Messiah, He is Lord.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved (John 3:16-17). Jesus. Jesus said, “I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me (John 14:6)."Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord (1 Corinthians 15:58).
